Cheerio is a fun-loving guy who came to us very apprehensive at first. He had a rough start and is learning about life in a proper home and he's loving every minute!
Cheerio's apprehension changed the moment he was introduced to his new roommates, two previously rescued ferrets. He immediately took to them and it became abundantly clear: Cheerio needs to be among his kind. Most species benefit greatly from this type of companionship, and ferrets are no exception. For this reason, we would prefer he go to a home with experienced ferret owners and be adopted with his best friend Bear. Cheerio thrives on this companionship. He has quickly become comfortable with cats and dogs, although he was a little unsure of them at first. He is currently missing a small patch of fur on his rear that is believed to be a result of an attack (a statement made by his previous owners - they had another ferret believed to have been killed by dogs after they threw them both outside). The fur currently appears to be growing back. Cheerio was fine with older kids at the vet's office, but to our knowledge, he has not had long-term exposure to them. He should be fine with children with proper supervision and time to adjust to them. Cheerio has had two veterinary exams and is current on his rabies vaccination. He was vaccinated for distemper as a kit, but we do not update this vaccine per our vets' suggestion. He is a very sweet boy who loves to be held. He is also very playful and quick to initiate play, even with his humans! After a good run, he enjoys laying on his back in your arms. Open your heart and home for Cheerio & his best friend Bear today - you won't regret it! If interested, please apply by downloading, completing and emailing an application to us. All ferrets receive a veterinary exam, rabies vaccine, dewormer, and are spayed/neutered and descented.
