Iris is a cute little muffin-head! She's so quiet most of the time that you hardly notice she's around. Then, she'll bark at the thunder as if telling it off for disturbing her! Or, she'll quietly approach you and put one fuzzy paw on your leg asking to pet her, please. Sometimes, she'll jump into your lap and settle there to watch t.v. She likes to sleep on her back with her paws straight up in the air, which is way too adorable. It's hard to imagine that we found this precious little girl in a kill shelter after her family dumped her there, so badly matted that it took three days to shave them all off.

Because of her prior experience, Iris does not trust people easily. She will avoid a person she does not trust if possible, but if they insist on grabbing her, she will bite in self-defense. She's never broken skin, but it is for this reason that we recommend she does not go to a family with young children. She's also not the kind of dog very young children enjoy. She is very calm and not bouncy - fetch is not her game. She'd much prefer to be a lap companion than a playmate. She is housetrained and does not chew at all. She is a perfect little lady in the house.

Iris is the ideal companion for the empty nester or retiree.

We are usually unable to return calls during the week due to our full schedules with work, family and the animals we care for. Please email us an Adoption Form if you are interested in this pet and we'll be happy to get the ball rolling. Pets are shown by appointment after completed adoption forms are received and approved.

Please email the foster parent listed here. If you need to call, please tell us the latest we may call you back. Thank you for your understanding.*****
