Harley's DNA was sent off to a lab to be analyzed so we would know once and for all what his breed mix is. In spite of his looks, he has NO pit bull in his mix. He is mostly AKITA, followed by Boxer, Norwegian Elkhound, Parson Russell Terrier, and Pembroke Welsh Corgi!

I love: my foster parents (especially my foster DAD!), my Jolly ball, playing tug-o-war, running in the back yard, wrestling with my foster sister (she's a Doberman), food and treats, soaking up the sun, and car rides! Life is FULL of things to love.
I have: social anxiety, especially when meeting new dogs or people.
I get along well with: most people and some dogs, and everyone once I have time to get to know them. I even play well with my tiny little foster brother!
I would rather not: go to the Vet, have a bath or get my nails done. Good thing I have an easy clean, short coat and dainty nails that don't need frequent clipping.

I need: lots of room to run and a soft spot on the couch when I get tired or it's too cold out, a laid back family to counteract my anxiety, and firm but benevolant leadership.

My skills are: I am solidly housetrained and will knock on the door to be let out if I have to use the bathroom, crate trained, and I know Sit, Down, Come, Shake, Look (eye contact), Excuse Me (move out of the way), Kennel, Off, and more, and I quickly learn new skills because I know how to learn, and I take direction well, too.

Harley's nickname is "Bug", and he answers to that more than Harley most of the time. He prefers to be outside when the weather is nice. When he's ready to come in, he will knock on the door and wait quietly until someone comes to open it. A dog door would be great for him so that he could come inside for a quick nap when he's tired from playing. Bug is beautiful and adoring. He will treat you like a rock star... so happy to see you when you come home from work. He will give you your space, though, and isn't one for "cuddling". He doesn't want to be treated like a teddy bear; he wants to be treated like a companion who is safe and loved.

All dogs receive a distemper/parvovirus vaccine(s), kennel cough vaccine, rabies vaccine, dewormer, monthly heartworm prevention, microchip, and are spayed/neutered through CARE.
