Always Smiling!
Hampton is quite a character, or as we call him in his foster home "Hambone, the Bichon". His happiness is infectious , and he can always bring a smile to his foster mom's face. Sometimes, he gets all spunky and takes off running and you can't help but laugh because his back legs are moving faster than the front so that he almost spins completely around. Graceful, he is not. Cute as a button, he is! The pictures on his profile (if you are on www.caretoadopt.org) show what Hampton looked like when he came into CARE, almost bald with a bad skin infection, and what he looks like now, an adorable little cotton ball! Hambone is part cat. He loves to curl up in a lap and nap or perch on something, preferably in a sunbeam. If a lap is not available, he will either sleep on the arm of the couch or on top of his crate. He makes a great bed buddy because he curls up at the foot of the bed and doesn't move all night; you don't even know he's there. He also likes to stand with his front paws on your leg so he can use you to str-e-t-c-h like a kitty. Hambone would fit in well in a home with cats. Hambone also likes other dogs, just not the hyper in-your-face ones. He would rather pal around than wrestle which is why he loves the Coonhound in his foster home. He follows him around like Chester does Spike. Hambone is crate and house trained. His only bad habits are his weird and inexplicable sock obsession and the ocassional marking if left alone to wander the house, both of which are easily solved by crating him when you're not home or busy. Submit your application now to bring this AWESOME boy into your life. If old enough, dogs are tested for Heartworms and treated by CARE if positive. A completed adoption application and home visit are required to adopt a dog. We do adopt out of state.
